Optional Retouching
The majority of Australian professional photography companies, including Fotoworks, offer parents the option of having minor skin blemishes in student portrait photographs “re-touched” to remove them.
This optional service was introduced in response to requests from parents and is used in instances where school children may be suffering from conditions that can include chicken pox, measles, cold sores, cuts, bruises and acne.
The optional retouching service is only used to “re-touch” skin blemishes when requested by parents and not for any other purpose.
While only a small minority of parents choose to use the “re-touching” service, those who do are grateful there is an option that saves their children any potential embarrassment about their skin blemishes when school photographs are taken.
The optional service to “re-touch” images is very different to airbrushing – a term which has been incorrectly used by some media outlets to describe Fotoworks’ optional retouching service.
Finally, Fotoworks is a member of the Professional Schools Photographers Association of Australia and adheres to a strict code of ethics to promote the quality of school photography to its highest standard.
